I was fortunate to be able to see the Bums of Brooklyn defeat the Yankees in 1955. Your parents were correct. They held a party in Brooklyn and everyone showed up! What a day!!!

My allegiance to that team was gone as soon as they left for Cali. I just couldn't become a Yankee or Giant fan.

Not until The Mets arrived did I think I would ever have the passion that I did for that Brooklyn team.

Lo and behold,, we had National League baseball again, and it was love at first sight!

The Metsies as Casey called them. So inept that you just had to love em, thinking some day it would be our turn. Seven years later it was.
